1/4 Life Sized Horse, Emma Wade

A recently completed 1/4 life sized horse. Cast in bronze for Emma Wade, a Dorset / Somerset based artist.

This sculpture was cast at Wolf & Stone from the artists original. Firstly by taking a direct mould of the original using rubber backed up with fiberglass. From this the sculpture is transferred into wax, it is then coated in a specially formulated shell material. The wax is then melted out or ‘lost’. The molten bronze is then poured into the negative cavity. The bronze sculpture is fettled and finished with the patina chosen by the artist.
